My curio cabinet at home. My first priority; Creating the toys I wish I had as a kid!

I've been doing some digital sculpting, so I thought I might post the one dinosaur I've done. This is the South American Augustia.
A good amount of the vertebrea and spines have been found, yet any other material is scarce. I used the Rebbachisaur Rayososaurus as a basis for the
rest of the animal. I plan to finish this soon. I still need to paint it and add fine details. Just in case anyone asks me when this will be available as a kit, let me
make it clear that this is a 3D computer model!

The Antediuvia Story
Every one always asks me what Antediluvia is and why I named a line of miniatures after it. Heres the story.
My friend Peter Von Sholly makes these really cool comics that combines real people and monster models. He has created a great deal of these "photo-comics", most of which are a mix of pulp fiction and horror with a fun sensibility. One day I asked him about doing a "lost world" scenario, and he asked me if I wanted to be in it. Being a fan of that genre I whole-heartedly agreed. I told him that I have a lot of Victorian costume and equipment that might add some flavor to the story, and with that in mind he came up with a great idea. He put a Victorian explorer in a Victorian version of the prehistoric world! In the 1860's the notion that the Great Flood killed off the dinosaurs was widly excepted; hence the word Antediluvian means something like " world before the flood". The character in the comic names the place he visits "Antediluvia". I really liked the word so I asked Pete if I could adapt it to my miniatures and he graciously agreed.
The comic was written and created by Peter Von Sholly. Mike Jones sculpted the prehistoric beasts and Peter's wife Andrea made the Time Balloon. If you would like to see more of Peter work, please visit www.vonshollywood.com All art work and story is copyright 1999 Peter Von Sholly!

Hard at work in the August heat of my garage!

Raw bronzes before the patina process. It takes a lot of work to get the bronzes presentable. I have to grind of metal flashing, drill detail back into the piece, sandblast it and then soak them in a chemical dip to patina the metal (this is to simulate centuries of natural aging and give it a golden brown color). After that the pieces are brushed with wax and buffed to bring out the rich tones of the patina. Actual bronze is cheap, but the process that is involved in making a bronze sculpture is VERY labor intensive.
Here is a color guide that I sent to Steve Riojas before he painted the Stegosaurus. I colored the grey model digitally.
I backed up my crazy colors with colors and paterns that occur in nature.
